The following describes known limitations that are now fixed for paint and paint layers.
Paint strokes do not appear on model
Paint strokes did not appear on the model immediately after duplicating a curve guide. This has been fixed.
After making a paint stroke on a model there could sometimes be a brief time delay before it appeared on the model. This has been fixed.
Edge bleed issues when painting on quad and n-sided models
Paint does not always automatically bleed along the edges of UV shells as expected on models with varied polygon topologies and UV layouts. This has been fixed.
No warning when UVs overlap tile border
When UV texture coordinates are laid out so they overlap the UV tile border paint cannot be applied correctly. Mudbox did not warn users of the poor UVs and subsequent painting produced unexpected results. A message now appears in the 3D View when painting on models when the UVs overlap the tile region.
UVs are not automatically created for upper subdivision levels
UV texture coordinates were not automatically created for a higher subdivision level when a user attempted to paint on the model at that level. A subdivided version of the UV texture coordinates should have been created based on the UVs at the base level of the model. This has been fixed.
Tiled stencils do not work when painting
The paint tools did not take into account the repeated versions of a stencil after turning on the Use Tiles property. This has been fixed.
Tiled paint layers use different naming convention than extracted texture maps
The naming convention used for tiled paint layers used a different title case than the files named when extracting texture maps. This has been fixed.
Mudbox exits when hiding or showing texture tiles when UVs do not exist on model
Mudbox exited without warning or produced an Unexpected error has occurred message when showing or hiding texture tiles (using the up and down arrow keys) when a model had no UVs. This has been fixed.
New paint layer should appear above existing layer
Creating or importing paint layers would result in the new layer appearing at the top of the layer list (within its layer group type). It should have appeared above the current layer. This has been fixed.
