Using Text Setup Files

A text setup file can be referenced in the Subtitle XML file. The text setup file overrides the font style and position parameters indicated in the current <title> element.

Using a text setup file allows you to easily apply your preferred setups to any Subtitle XML file.

To create a text setup file:

  1. In the Text module, create a text setup. See Text.
  2. Click Save.
  3. In the Save menu, select Text from the Save box.

    Show small imageShow large image

  4. Choose the directory into which you want to save the file.
  5. Type a name for the file and press Enter or click the Save button.

The file is saved and you return to the Text menu.

To associate a text setup file with a Subtitle XML file:

  1. Open a Subtitle XML file in a text editor.
  2. Within each <title> element, indicate the path to the text setup file in the <setup> element. See Editing Subtitle XML Files and Title Elements.

The parameters in the text setup file override the following text parameters within the <title> element of the Subtitle XML file: font, size, font colour, vertical, and horizontal.
