Clip Naming Options
 
 
 

The options described below are not used by every format. Only the ones relevant to the selected format are accessible.

Clip Name boxSelect how the clip is named when the file is imported.

Select: To:
Enter Clip Name Activate the Clip Name field so that you can manually enter the clip name. When selecting multiple files for import, this name is used for all imported files.
Clip Name from Filename Use the name of the imported file as the clip name.
Clip Name from Header Read the clip name from the header of the imported file.
Clip Name from XML Use the clip name listed in the XML file accompanying the XDCAM media. (XDCAM only)
Clip Name from Essence Use the clip name inferred from the directory structure of the P2 or XDCAM clip. (P2 and XDCAM only)

Clip Name fieldEnter the name to use when importing the clip. Enabled if Name is set to Enter Clip Name.

Clip Names box (OpenEXR and PSD)Layers (PSD) and channels (OpenEXR) are imported as clips in Inferno. Select how to name, at import, the clips thus created.

Select (OpenEXR): Select (PSD): To:
Filename Use the filename of the container for all the imported channels or layers.
Channel Layer Use the channel (or layer) name as the clip name.
Channel + Filename Layer + Filename Combine the channel (or layer) name and the filename of the container to form the clip name.
Filename + Channel Filename + Layer Combine the filename of the container and the channel (or layer) name to form the clip name.

Sequence Detection boxSelect how Inferno displays image sequences. An image sequence consists of image files, such as .psd, named identically except for a numeric postfix.

Select: To display and process the related images:
Sequence As a single clip made of all these related images.
Frames As independant images.
