Setting the Default Preferences

In any module where preferences can be saved, you can save your preferences as the default so that they will be loaded each time you use the module. Each defined user can save default preferences. You can also return the default preferences to those that came with Flame.

The preferences directory is set to /usr/discreet/<home>/correct/pref. All the factory preferences are automatically copied to the new user. To change the default preferences directory, select <new> from the Preferences Directory box and use the file browser to create or select a new directory. See Modifying a User.

To save your preferences as the default:

  1. In a module where preferences can be saved, set the preferences the way you want.
  2. Display the Save menu.
  3. Select Defaults from the Save option box. If the Confirm prompt appears, confirm the save.

The defaults are saved and you are returned to the previous menu.

To reset the defaults to the factory setting:

  1. Display the Load menu.
  2. Select Factory Defaults from the Load option box and Confirm.

The factory defaults are loaded, and you are returned to the previous menu.

NoteWhen you load the factory defaults, the current default preferences are saved to a backup file that you can reload from the user's preference directory if needed.
