Timecode on Soft Clips

You can view two types of timecode on clips on the Desktop, Player timeline and Batch timeline—source timecode and record timecode.

The timecode for the source clip is used in the soft edit. Source clips loaded from a VTR start with the timecode from the VTR tape. Source clips created in Flame or imported begin at timecode 00:00:00:00.

The record timecode is the timecode of the soft edit. When you use an editing command that creates a soft edit, the record timecode shows a new timecode renumbered starting at 00:00:00:00.

To view source and record timecode on the Desktop, select Src and Rec Timecode from the Frame ID box in the Desktop Clips section of the Preferences menu. In the Batch or Player timeline, display the element information. See Displaying Element Information.
