imcopy is a powerful utility that lets you import and export images or image sequences from the framestore and convert them to any image format supported by Backdraft Conform. It supports image operations such as cropping, scaling, and LUT conversion. In addition, imcopy allows you to select the output compression.

While from_framestore and to_framestore work with uncompressed SGI image files only, imcopy recognizes all the image file formats supported by Backdraft Conform. However, unlike from_framestore and to_framestore, this utility must have direct access to the image files, whether on a local filesystem or on a remote host accessed via NFS.

  1. Make sure that /usr/discreet/io/<version number>/bin is in your path.
  2. Type:

    imcopy <imcopy options> <in file name and path> <out file name and path> <start index> <stop index>
