Managing Hotkeys
 
 
 

Use the Hotkey Manager area of the Hotkey Editor to manage the Hotkey catalogues.

ClearClears the contents of the Keystroke field in the Keystroke Editor before you enter a new keystroke sequence.

SetIs the second-to-final step when assigning a keystroke sequence to a button or function. You must use Save as the final step to make the change permanent. See Editing Hotkeys and Creating New Local Hotkeys.

ResetResets the current local hotkeys to their default settings.

ReloadReloads the current catalogue of hotkeys. This is useful if you made a change but have not yet saved it, and you wish to discard the change.

SaveSaves the current hotkeys to the current user's Hotkey catalogue.

Reset AllResets all hotkeys to their default settings.

Reload AllReloads all hotkeys from the current user's Hotkey catalogue.

Save AllSaves all hotkeys to the current user's Hotkey catalogue.

Hide PanelHides the Hotkey Editor panel when you want to select a menu button otherwise hidden by the panel. The panel reappears when you select a menu button. Alternatively, click in an open area to return to the Hotkey Editor panel without selecting anything.

NoteThis button is only available when accessing the Hotkey Editor from a module.

CloneUsed to assign a regular keyboard keystroke sequence to a single button, field, or function. You can use Clone to map multiple keystroke sequences to a single button, field, or function using the regular system keyboard. This feature does not provide macro functionality.

To clone a button, field, or function:

  1. Select a button, field, or function in the Hotkey catalogue.
  2. Click Clone in the Hotkey Manager area to create a second entry for this button, field, or function.

    A “Y” appears in the Hotkey catalogue indicating that the cloned hotkey is user-modified.

  3. Activate a control or enter a keystroke sequence on the system keyboard).
    NoteYou must enter a keystroke sequence that is not in use. Otherwise, an error message appears.
  4. Click Set in the Hotkey Manager area of the Hotkey Editor.
  5. Click Save to save the changes to the current user catalogue.
