This section outlines issues you may encounter with nDynamics and provides solutions.

nCloth menu set appears in Maya

If you've upgraded from Maya 2008 Unlimited to Maya Unlimited 2009, the nCloth menu set may still appear in the Maya interface. This is due to saved Maya preferences. The nCloth menu set no longer works in Maya. All nCloth related controls are only available from the nDynamics menu set.

Solution: Do one of the following:

Remove the nCloth menu set from the Maya interface by doing the following:
1. From the Status Line, select Custom.
2. In the Menu Set Editor, select nCloth from the Menu sets column.
3. Click Remove Menu Set.
Delete your preferences from the following location:
Windows
- (Windows XP)
\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\maya\ 2009\en_US\prefs
- (Windows XP 64-bit)
\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\maya\ 2009-x64\en_US\prefs
- (Windows Vista)
\Users\<username>\Documents\maya\2009\en_US\prefs
- (Windows Vista 64-bit)
\Users\<username>\Documents\maya\2009-x64\en_US\prefs

Mac OS X

/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/en_US/2009/prefs

Linux 64-bit

Missing nDynamics menu set

If you’ve upgraded from Maya 2009 Complete to Maya 2009 Unlimited, the nDynamics menu set may be missing from the Maya interface. This is due to saved Maya preferences.

Solution: Do one of the following:

Restore the default menu sets by doing the following:
1. From the Status Line, select Custom.
2. In the Menu Set Editor, select Edit > Restore Default Menu Sets.
Delete your preferences from the following location:

\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\maya\ 2009\en_US\prefs
- (Windows XP 64-bit)
\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\maya\ 2009-x64\en_US\prefs
