Expand the FBX Version menu to select an FBX version.
The following table lists the different versions available for you to select from the FBX exporter option.

| FBX2010 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the latest FBX 2010 version of the 3ds Max FBX Plug-in. This is the default FBX version. |

| FBX200611 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX 200611 version of the FBX Plug-ins. |
| FBX200608 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX 200608 version of the FBX Plug-ins. |
| FBX200602_MB75 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX200602 version of the FBX Plug-ins. This includes older versions of MotionBuilder. NOTE This is no longer necessary with the most recent versions of MotionBuilder, since “Fbx Plug-in Import” has been implemented. |

You do not need to change this option if you are using the latest FBX 2010 Plug-ins in the source and destination applications. This option is only for exporting older versions of the FBX plug-ins, not the application, unless the latest plug-in is not available for that specific version.
For example, if you want to export from 3ds Max 2010 and import to 3ds Max 2008 using the latest FBX 2010 versions of the plug-ins in both applications, you do not need to change the export FBX version. The file is compatible when you use the FBX 2010 versions of the plug-in.
