Gaussian Time Blur

Produces a time blur effect by adding together proportional amounts of all of the frames in the specified range before, after or either side of the current frame.

The total opacity of all frames added together will always equal 100%, but because opacity is determined using a gaussian curve, frames nearer the current frame will have greater opacity than those further away.

Requires an Input (Any).

Produces an Output (Any).

Time

Source Clip Range

Specifies the frames in the source to be used as Start and End frames when retiming.

Radius

Sets the number of frames before, after or either side of (according to the Period setting) the current frame which will be included in the blur. Set any positive floating-point value using the slider.

Accuracy

Accuracy lets you change the range of samples used to approximate a Gaussian blur of a given radius. For high accuracy (e.g., more than 90%) samples over about twice the radius of the blur are used, while for the lowest accuracy (60%), samples over the radius of the blur are used.

Accuracy has a range of 60% - 100%. Processing time is proportional to the range of samples, so it is quicker to process a blur of given radius if the accuracy is lower.

The default value of 60% is rather low because high accuracy values tend to increase the true radius value of the blur. For example, when the radius of the blur is set to 3, the operator only uses frames at most 3 before/after the current frame. If accuracy is turned up to 98%, 7 frames on each side are used.

Period

Sets whether the effect uses frames before, after or either side of the current frame. Select Past, Future or Future + Past.
