What are shots?

Shots allow you to capture a camera position and add optional cinematographic movements around it to create moving shots (like those used in car commercials).

View Shots

You can create the following types of shots.

Press T (or select Story > Camera Shots). The Shots interface appears in the lower left corner of the window.

Types of shots

Still (no motion)

The camera does not move during the shot (it may move for the transition into the shot).

Select Story > Create Shot > Still.

For details, see Create and set up a still shot (no motion).

Start to end (two keyframes)

The camera moves from one keyframe to another. Select Story > Create Shot > Start to End or click on the Create button. Create and set up a moving shot (two keyframes)

Cinematic (one keyframe plus path)

The camera moves along a predefined path relative to a single keyframe. Select Story > Create Shot > Cinematic Orbit, and change the Motion type parameter to Cinematic (one keyframe plus path). Create and set up a cinematic shot (one keyframe).

Note

A small camera icon appears over two-keyframe and cinematic shots:
