Hide or show a sculpt layer

You can turn the display for a sculpt layer on or off to avoid accidentally modifying that layer or to see how the model appears without the sculpted features of that layer.

  1. Click the solid dot icon in the Visible column (below the eye icon) beside the layer you want to hide.

The dot displays as a hollow circle when the layer is not visible.

  2. Click the dot again to show the layer.
NoteIf Mudbox displays a circular red warning symbol beside the sculpt layer name, it indicates that the sculpt layer is currently locked to another subdivision level. This occurs when the current subdivision level doesn’t match the level the sculpt layer was created on. Use the Page Up or Page Down keys to reach the correct subdivision level so you can change the visibility for that layer.
