If you select Alienbrain as your Asset manager, you have all of the features of the Visual SourceSafe Asset manager with a few extra features.
The Open, Save, and Save As commands are modified when you use the Alienbrain Asset manager. These commands are mapped to drives and are synchronized with the database projects, letting you work locally while still connected to the project’s database.
