The Type menu lets you determine the default interpolation of the keyframes you set.

The rest of this section describes the options in the Type menu. Interpolation modes are described in more detail in the Interpolation.
Option | Function |
---|---|
Clamp | The Clamp option is only available when you have selected a Smooth or Spline Auto interpolation mode. This option clamps the value of your keyframe to prevent overshooting maximum and minimum values. |
Auto | Auto interpolation is a cubic curve which you can modify using tangent handles or angle and weight settings. The tangents of an Auto key type will automatically be adjusted based upon the interpolation of the previous and next keys. When editing Auto interpolation, you can work in three modes—Progressive Clamp, Smooth and Spline. |
Fixed | Tangents are not influenced by neighboring keyframes. |
TCB | Joins each keyframe using a Hermite-type curve, but the slope on either side of a tangent handle is changed using the TCB (Tension/Continuity/Bias) values. |
Stepped | Maintains the same keyframe value between keyframes, with no slope between them. |
Linear | Joins keyframes using straight lines, and a constant slope between keyframes. |
