Texture a fluid

To texture a fluid

  1. Select the fluid container.
  2. In the fluidShape Attribute Editor, expand the Textures section and turn on the attributes you want to texture: Texture Color, Texture Incandescence, and Texture Opacity.
  3. From the Texture Type list, select the texture you want to apply.

You cannot apply different textures to each of Color, Incandescence, and Opacity. The texture type you select applies to all the attributes you are texturing.

  4. From the Coordinate Method list, select the method you want to use: the texture can be fixed in space (Fixed), or it can move dynamically with the fluid (Grid).
  5. If you select Grid as the Coordinate Method, set a Coordinate Speed.
  6. Modify the texture attributes until you achieve the desired effect. For details, see Textures.
  7. Keyframe the Texture Time attribute to animate the texture. For information on keyframing, see Keyframe Animation.
