Preserve Clumps

 
 
 

Use this modifier to preserve the shape of clumps when the surface of the polygon mesh deforms. Otherwise, on a deforming surfaces, spline clumps may spread outwards or interpenetrate each other.

Preserve Clumps uses an anim wire to keep the shape of clumps, but does apply animation to the wire. Use Preserve Clumps on fur characters that use the Baked Groom modifier.

Note

You cannot use Preserve Clumps on Descriptions that applies the Anim Wires modifier applies. To use both modifiers, you must create a that activates only one of them for any given primitive.

Mask

Controls the strength of the modifier effect. You can use Mask to load a map that specifies how areas of the mesh surface are affected by the modifier.

Magnitude

Sets the amount that the clumps are preserved for each affected primitive.
