File > Export Grooming

Opens the Export Grooming window, which lets you save the maps and attributes associated with a groomable splines Description.

Attribute Maps, Mask, and Region Map

File Path

Lets you specify a location to save the attribute, mask, and region map PTEX files. By default, these files are saved in groom folder of the exported Description.

Texels Per Unit

Lets you generate lower or higher resolution versions of the PTEX files when they are saved to the specified locations.

For information about texels, see Understanding texels.

Sampling

(Attribute Maps) Lets you specify the method used to calculate the texels.

Nearest uses neighboring texels on the map to generate new texel values. Maps created with Nearest generate faster, but when primitive density changes, the primitive locations may be reset.

Interpolate adds more or less primitives by interpolating between current primitives when the primitives density change. Maps created with Interpolate take longer to generate, but are higher quality.
