Insert keys in place of retime markers

After you create retime markers and manipulate the timing of your animation sequence, you can anchor the changes in timing by inserting keys in place of the retime markers.

To insert keys in place of a retime marker

  1. -click the marker and select Insert Key from the menu that appears.

Maya inserts a key on all selected channels currently displaying under the retime marker. If no curves are selected, a key is inserted at this frame for all curves currently displayed in the graph view.

NoteThe tangents of added keys are based on the Default In Tangent/Default Out Tangent specified in the Animation (Settings) preferences (by default, Auto tangents), which may adjust the shape of your curve.
