Import and export editorial content

You can import and export editorial files to help set up, edit, and refine a sequence of shots in the Camera Sequencer.

To import editorial content

  1. From the menu bar in the Camera Sequencer, select one of the following:
    • To import a file without setting additional import options, select File > Import Editorial. In the Import browser that opens, browse to select an AAF or XML FCP file you want to load.
    • To import a file and set additional options, select File > Import Editorial > .
Note

When you import an editorial file, if Maya cannot find the associated movie or sound files using the path specified in the editorial file, it searches for them in the Movie and Sound project locations. These locations are specified in Edit Project window (File > Project > Edit Current). For example, the default Movie project location is set to the data directory of the default Maya project.

You can edit the Movie and Sound project locations to point to a new location, for example, if you have editorial files with paths to a network drive on a Mac OS X system, and you want to import those files on a Windows system. See Organize files into projects.

To export editorial content

  1. From the menu bar in the Camera Sequencer, select one of the following:
    • To export without setting additional options, select File > Export Editorial.
    • To export and set additional options, select File > Export Editorial > .
