Geometry Cache > Append to Cache

Generates a new geometry cache for the current object and appends it to the object’s enabled geometry cache. If the appended cache overlaps in time with the enabled cache, then it is automatically blended with the enabled cache. However, if there is a gap in time between the enabled cache and the appended cache, then the gap is linearly interpolated and no cache data for the gap is saved to the appended cache. See Append geometry caches.

Geometry Cache > Append to Cache >

Opens the Append to Geometry Cache Options window.

Append Time Range

Lets you define a cache time range for the geometry cache you want to create and append to the current object’s enabled cache.

Current Time

Specifies that only the current frame is cached and appended to the enabled cache.

Current Time to Time Slider End

Specifies that the cache time range for the geometry cache you want to create and append to the enabled cache starts at the Current Time Indicator’s current position in time and ends at the Playback End Time.

Time Slider

Specifies that the cache time range for the geometry cache you want to create and append to the enabled cache is the entire playback range.

End of cache to Time Slider End

Specifies that the cache time range of the geometry cache you want to create and append to the enabled cache starts at the enabled cache’s Source End and ends at the Playback End Time.

End of cache to End

Specifies that the cache time range of the geometry cache you want to create and append to the enabled cache starts at the enabled cache’s Source End and ends at the Animation End Time.

Start/End

Specifies that the cache time range of the geometry cache you want to create and append to the enabled cache starts and ends at the Start and End times specified in the Start/End fields.

Start/End

These fields let you specify a Start and End time for the cache time range.

Evaluate every frame(s) and Save every evaluation(s)

When creating a geometry cache, one sample of your object’s deformations is taken every frame and saved to your cache by default.

Evaluate every frame(s) specifies how often samples are taken during geometry cache creation. For example, a value of 2 caches the deformations of the current object at every other frame of the Cache Time Range.

Save every evaluation(s) specifies which samples are saved during geometry cache creation. For example, a value of 2 specifies that only every other sample specified by the Evaluate every frame(s) option is saved to your geometry cache.

For more information, see Geometry cache creation.
