Create nHair on selected components

You can select polygon faces or NURBS surface points and then assign hair follicles to these locations.

To create nHair on selected components

  1. Switch to component mode, and select the object components on which you want to place hair.

Select faces for polygon objects and surface points for NURBS surfaces.

  2. From the nDynamics menu set, select nHair > Create Hair > .

The Create Hair Options window appears.

  3. Select the type of curves you want to use from the Output list.

    See Output.

  4. Turn on At selected points/faces.
  5. Modify the remaining hair options as required.

For descriptions of the hair options, see nHair > Create Hair.

  6. Click Create Hairs.

The selected object components are populated with hair follicles. Use nHair > Randomize Follicles to add randomization values to the follicle locations to adjust the placement of follicles.

  7. To set nHair to collide with the polygon surface, convert it to a passive collision object by selecting it and selecting nMesh > Create Passive Collider.

By default, nHair collides with passive collision objects. If you are adding nHair to a NURBS surface, you must convert the object to a polygon object before the hair collides with a surface object. See Creating nHair on surfaces.
