The following describes limitations that are now fixed for rendering, effects, and general display.

Ambient occlusion filter not supported on some graphics cards

The Ambient Occlusion viewport filter feature has been improved to work on a wider range of graphics cards for Mudbox 2009 - Service Pack 1 compared to Mudbox 2009. In addition, Mudbox now displays a message when it detects a situation that may not provide optimal graphics performance when using the Ambient Occlusion viewport filter and other real-time effects.

In addition, turning off the Use Texture Filtering preference can also improve performance for the Ambient Occlusion viewport filter on older graphics cards. For more information, see Preferences window.

Viewport filters produce anti-aliasing artifacts on model edges

Viewport filters could occasionally produce anti-aliasing artifacts along the edges of models. This has been fixed.

Artifacts appear on model when sculpting

When sculpting on a model, visual artifacts such as openings or tearing in the model could sometimes occur. This has been fixed.

Model displays at lower left corner of 3D View

Creating or switching between layer types sometimes displayed the model as a 100x100 image in the lower left hand corner of the 3D View. This has been fixed.

Showing and hiding faces

Several limitations related to the hiding and showing of faces have been fixed.

Curve visibility in Object List

The curve visibility setting in the Object List was not working. This has been fixed.
