Image-based light properties

Simulates lighting in the scene based on an image of an environment. Image-based lighting can use High Dynamic Range Images (HDRI) for simulating very realistic lighting and reflection effects.

NoteOnly one image-based light can be specified in the scene at a time. Other light types can be used in conjunction with image-based lights and the overall scene illuminance is accumulative as a result.
Intensity

Specifies the strength or brightness of the light source.

Locked To Camera

Locks the position of the light source to the camera. When the camera is rotated or tumbled, the effect of the light (specular highlight) changes relative to the model’s surface.

Show Manipulator

Displays the light’s transformation manipulator. The manipulator that gets displayed depends on the light type. For a point light, a move manipulator appears to let you reposition the location in X, Y, Z. For directional and image-based light sources a rotate manipulator appears to let you rotate the direction of the light source or the image map in relation to the model.

Image Based Light File

Specifies the image file path used as the light map. An environment is simulated around the model which affects the model’s overall luminance and also appears in the material’s reflection component. Whenever an image-based light is specified, the Image Based Light File replaces the Reflection Map file in the assigned material with the file specified by the image-based light.
