Chapter 2, Navigating and Browsing |
The Composition Browser displays all the nodes for the current composition. Using this browser, you can view parameters and set keyframes for animation. It's also an easy way to quickly view parameter names when referencing them in expressions.
The Composition Browser has four columns. The Name column contains the name of the node or attribute. The Value column contains the value associated with an attribute. The M (marked) column indicates whether an attribute is marked for keyframing. The animation type) column indicates whether the attribute is currently animated. The keyframe icon in this column turns red if the composition is currently parked on the time of that keyframe.
The Composition Browser is also available in the Animation tab of the tool UI, and there are no options for you to set.
You can change the way you view the items in the Composition Browser.
At the bottom of the Composition Browser, select a view.
Select: | To display: |
All (flat) | A list of all nodes in the composition. In this view, a group node lists only its inputs; the nodes in the group appear at the same level as the other nodes in the composition. |
Hierarchy | A hierarchy of all nodes in the composition, with the composition as the root. In the case of group nodes, this view displays all of the inputs to the group, as well as all of the nodes it contains. |
Click the Filter button and select one or more filters. Filters are divided into two groups. The topmost group (Footage, Processing, Group, All) is applied first, and produces a set of nodes--a result. The bottom most group (Selected, Marked, Muted, Animated, Time Offset, Neighborhood) is applied to that result.
Select: | To display: |
Footage | Nodes that reference or generate images. Input nodes reference images, and image generation tools generate images. |
Processing | Nodes that perform operations on images, excluding super tools and nodes contained in groups or in super tools. |
Group | Group nodes. |
All | All nodes in the composition. |
Selected | Nodes (in the result) that are currently selected. |
Marked | Nodes (in the result) that contain channels marked for keyframing. |
Muted | Nodes (in the result) that are muted. |
Animated | Nodes (in the result) that contain channels that are animated. |
Time Offset | Nodes (in the result) that are affected by a Time Offset tool. |
Neighborhood | Nodes that immediately precede or follow the tool nodes contained in the result. |
