In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released Autodesk® Alias 2018.
This file highlights known issues in this release.
Installation
- (Mac OS) Alias may fail to launch, stopping at the Starting Application status message. (ALS-1791)
Solution: Click the Alias icon in the dock to start Alias.
- (Mac OS) Installing Alias on a case sensitive OS is not supported. (CLIC-5321)
- (Mac OS) Alias may hang if you click the Alias icon on the dock during product launch. (ALS-2147)
Solution: Launch Alias directly. Do not click the dock during product launch.
- Trials are unable to run offline using the Enter a Serial Number Run button.
Solution: Run trails online using the Start a Trial link.
Modeling
- (Mac OS) Icons for Sweeps curves do not display correctly. (ALS-2208)
- Multi-Surface Draft surface moves to the active layer from the layer it was assigned to when updating history. (ALS-2222)
Solution: Assign the surface to layers manually.
- The radius manipulator disappears when creating a variable chordal fillet on a specific surface. (ALS-2322)
Data Transfer

Selecting the Use Tighter Edge Curve Tolerence option in the CATIA V5 import dialog box results in poor performance. (ALS-2288)
Solution: Turn off the option.

Layers are assigned incorrectly when opening CATIA V5 data in Alias. (ALS-2244)
Miscellaneous
- (Mac OS) The Print window does not display. (ALS-2314)
- (Mac OS) Alias crashes if you delete imported User Preferences. (ALS-2325)
Solution: Delete the Preferences in the OS rather than in Alias.
