Notice to Autodesk Manufacturing Customers
In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released a Hotfix to address two issues with AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 Service Pack 2 and Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2008 Service Pack 2.
This README file highlights what has been fixed or addressed, where to download the update and how to install it.

Issues addressed by this Hotfix
This hotfix should only be applied if you have
installed AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 Service Pack 2 or Mechanical Desktop 2008
Service Pack 2 AND only if you had Service Pack 1 installed prior to installing
Service Pack 2. If you have installed Service Pack 2 directly on an unpatched version of AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 or Mechanical
Desktop 2008, you do not need to install this Hotfix.
If your AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 or Mechanical
Desktop 2008 is patched with any Hotfix or Service
Pack earlier than Service Pack 2, you also do not need to install this Hotfix.
You must have administrative privileges to be able to install this Hotfix on AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 or Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2008 on Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home or Windows Vista.

Note: This Hotfix will update all language versions.
2. Close all software applications.
3. Find
the product installation folder; for example C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ACADM 2008 for AutoCAD Mechanical 2008
and C:\Program Files\Autodesk\MDT 2008
for Mechanical Desktop 2008.
4. Rename
the affected original files.

In <product
installation folder>\Acadm folder, right-click
the file AcmPmDb32.exe and rename it AcmPmDb32.bak
·
In <product
installation folder>\Acadm folder, right-click
the file AcmPmOleDb.dll and rename it AcmPmOleDb.bak
·
In <product
installation folder>\Acadm\gen folder,
right-click the file genbas3.lsp and rename it genbas3.bak
5. Unzip
the file downloaded in Step 1 to any folder.
6. Copy
the files from the extracted folder in Step 5 and paste them to the product
installation folder.

Copy and paste AcmPmDb32.exe to <product installation
folder>\Acadm folder.
·
Copy and paste AcmPmOleDb.dll to <product installation
folder>\Acadm folder.
·
Copy and paste genbas3.lsp to <product installation
folder>\Acadm\gen folder.
Note: To remove
this Hotfix, delete the new AcmPmDb32.exe, AcmPmOleDb.dll
and genbas3.lsp files in the
product installation folder and restore the files you renamed in Step 4 to the
original names.
