Important notes & disclaimers

• Please refer to the graphics hardware page to obtain further information on the graphics cards that have been qualified for 3ds Max 2009 and 3ds Max Design 2009
• Please refer to the hardware vendor site to get a list of all supported graphics cards for the workstations listed below
• Apple® computers based on Intel processors and running Microsoft operating systems are not currently supported by Autodesk Support
• All hardware qualification listed in this document have been performed using the following configuration:
• Single screen at resolution of 1920x130pt0 (60Hz)
• 4 GB of RAM (workstations) 2 GB of RAM (laptops)
• SATA drives
• Virtual memory (swap file size) : maximum size set to 4 GB
• Microsoft Windows Classic Theme
• Visual Effects Settings adjusted for ‘best performance’ (found in the performance options of system properties)
• All qualifications done on Microsoft Vista Business operating system have been done with the ‘desktop composition’ feature disabled (often referred as the AERO feature)
• 3ds Max/3ds Max Design Autocam feature (viewcube & steeringWheel) disabled.
• If you are experiencing additional issues not listed in this document, please search our Knowledge Base or contact customer support (http://www.autodesk.com/3dsmax-support)
• It may be possible to successfully use 3ds Max/3ds Max Design with a non-qualified or partially qualified configuration, but support and maintenance programs will be subject to the Autodesk Support service guidelines
• The graphics drivers specified in this document are the drivers that were used for the qualification process. While it may be possible to use 3ds Max/3ds Max Design successfully on earlier or later drivers, Autodesk cannot guarantee their performance or behavior. The same apply for the systems configuration described above.

P	Qualification is in progress. No issues found to date. This permutation is not to be considered fully qualified until tests are completed and final results available.
	Supported
	Qualified with caveats, refer to caveat list.
	Tested but not supported
	Qualification scheduled. Results will be published shortly
	Blocked or on hold (due to missing driver, etc…)
	Configuration not supported by vendor OR no qualification planned.
Note: Qualification is currently on-going for the missing permutations below. Information in this chart will be refreshed on a weekly basis until all permutations are completed.
