Deletes vertices. Joins two edges which have a common vertex. The vertices must be connected to exactly two edges (so- called “winged”).
Long name (short name) | Argument Types | Properties | |
---|---|---|---|
caching (cch) | bool | ||
|
|||
constructionHistory (ch) | bool | ||
Turn the construction history on or off (where applicable). If construction history is on then the corresponding node will be inserted into the history chain for the mesh. If construction history is off then the operation will be performed directly on the object.Note:If the object already has construction history then this flag is ignored and the node will always be inserted into the history chain. |

name (n) | unicode | ||
|
|||
nodeState (nds) | int | ||
Defines how to evaluate the node. 0: Normal1: PassThrough2: Blocking3: Internally disabled. Will return to Normal state when enabled4: Internally disabled. Will return to PassThrough state when enabled5: Internally disabled. Will return to Blocking state when enabledFlag can appear in Create mode of commandFlag can have multiple arguments, passed either as a tuple or a list. |
Derived from mel command maya.cmds.polyDelVertex
Example:
import pymel.core as pm
pm.polyPlane( n='plg' )
pm.select( 'plg.vtx[59:61]' )
# These vertices are not winged, so they can not be deleted
pm.polyDelVertex()
pm.select( 'plg.e[93]', 'plg.e[95]', 'plg.e[97]', 'plg.e[114]', 'plg.e[116]', 'plg.e[118]' )
pm.delete()
pm.select( 'plg.vtx[59:61]' )
# Now they are winged, as they are only connected to two edges.
pm.polyDelVertex()
# Corners are winged, so they can be deleted
pm.select( 'plg.vtx[0]', 'plg.vtx[10]', 'plg.vtx[107]', 'plg.vtx[117]' )
pm.polyDelVertex()
pm.select( 'plg' )
pm.polyOptions( ao=True, dv=True )
