pymel.core.system.dgeval

static system.dgeval(*args, **kwargs)

The dgevalcommand is used to force a dependency graph evaluate of a node or plug. Used for debugging to find propagation problems.

Flags:
Long name (short name) Argument Types Properties
src (src) bool

verbose (v) bool ../../../_images/create.gif

If this flag is used then the results of the evaluation(s) is/are printed on stdout. -src If specified then evaluate node outputs as well as inputs when evaluating an entire node. objectListNormally the selection list is used to determine which objects to evaluate, but you can add to the selection list by specifying which objects you want on the command line. Flag can have multiple arguments, passed either as a tuple or a list.

Derived from mel command maya.cmds.dgeval

Example:

import pymel.core as pm

# Evaluate all (connected) plugs on "myNode"
pm.dgeval( 'myNode' )
# Result: 5
# This means that 5 plugs were evaluated

# Evaluate myNode.tx only
pm.select( 'myNode.tx' )
pm.dgeval()
# Result: 1
