In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released Autodesk Vault 2015 add-ins for Microsoft Office 2013. This Update can be installed for Autodesk Vault Basic 2015, Autodesk Vault Workgroup 2015, and Autodesk Vault Professional 2015. This README file highlights how to download the Update and how to install the Update.

NOTE: Throughout this Readme document references to Vault 2015 will apply to Autodesk Vault Basic 2015, Autodesk Vault Workgroup 2015 and Autodesk Vault Professional 2015.

Locate the Autodesk Vault 2015 Add-ins for Microsoft Office 2013 Update at: Autodesk Knowledge Network

INSTALLATION

Depending on how your UAC is configured on Windows Vista or later operating systems, users may need to turn off User Access Control (UAC) to install this Update.
To install this Update, Administrative privileges are required.
This update can be installed and run without any Vault 2015 Clients installed. However .NET Framework 4.5 should be installed in the system before installing this update.
Microsoft Office 2013 should have been installed before applying this Update.

Installation instruction - applicable to every Autodesk Vault Client 2015

Download the Update depends on the Vault 2015 Client that is installed in the system.
Run the downloaded setup to install.

NOTE: Repair install is not supported. If you want to Repair the installation, uninstall the Update completely and re-install it.

LICENSE CONFIGURATION - This Applies to only Vault Professional and Vault Workgroup

    How to configure the Vault 2015 add-in for Microsoft Office 2013 so that it uses the Vault Office License or Vault Professional or Vault Workgroup License?

    In the add-installation folder (Default path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\MSOffice2013Addins") locate the file "OfficeUsers.config"

    The contents of the file looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <configuration>
    <Settings>
    <OfficeUser>true</OfficeUser>
    </Settings>
    </configuration>

    If it reads <OfficeUser>true</OfficeUser> then the add-in will consume the Vault Office license,
    If it reads <OfficeUser>false</OfficeUser> then the add-in will consume the Vault Professional or Workgroup license.

KNOWN ISSUES

In MS Word 2013 if a Read only document is opened from local or from Vault then it will be opened in Reading View mode. You can change the View to Print Layout view to view the document. For a permanent solution, uncheck the Option "Open E-Mail attachments and other uneditable files in reading view" under File->Options->General.
Vault add-in is not available in the Start Screen. To make it available open a document.
In MS Word 2013 "Open from Vault" will not open the file, if the local version of the file is old due to changes using Attach/Detach operations in Vault Explorer. To overcome this issue, delete the local file and try "Open from Vault" again.
