Limitations and Notes

The following section describes limitations and workarounds (where applicable) about this release.

Bug Number Description
Rendering

The following limitations pertain to the lookdevKit.mll plug-in:

MAYA-57765 Color attribute on the Color Constant node cannot be animated.
MAYA-57215 Switching of operations on the Color Logic node is not supported in mental ray rendering.

MAYA-56831

MAYA-58070

The Color Mask node may not produce the expected results in Viewport 2.0 and with the Maya Hardware 2.0 renderer.

Workaround: Use the mental ray renderer instead.

MAYA-58024 Clamp Color attribute in the Color Correct node may not work as expected when rendered with the mental ray renderer.
Viewport

MAYA-54666

If you experience a crash upon Maya start-up or exit, and you are using an NVIDIA graphics card, upgrading to the latest graphics card drivers may workaround the problem.
Modeling - Sculpting

MAYA-40113

Mesh may flicker when sculpting in a viewport running in DirectX11 mode.
Modeling - UVs

MAYA-42167

Transfer Attributes will not transfer UVs if the source object’s history is deleted.
Modeling - Type and SVG

MAYA-57314

Multi-byte characters (such as Japanese or Chinese) may not create geometry as expected with the Type Tool. It is preferable to use Meiryo UI and MS UI Gothic fonts. For other fonts, although you may be able to enter your phrase in the text field with multi-byte characters, they may not appear, or not appear as expected in the viewport.

MAYA-57982

Deformable Mesh does not support self-intersecting polygons. When importing or pasting an SVG file with opened curves, Maya's tessellator will automatically close them which can lead to some unexpected geometry.

Workaround: In general, it is best to close all paths in Illustrator before attempting to bring the object into Maya.

MAYA-58161

Some fonts with low curve resolution may produce overlapping faces.

Workaround: Increase Curve Resolution in the Attribute Editor’s Geometry tab. See Troubleshooting Extrusion Shapes in the Maya Help.

MAYA-58765

Type’s Animation Mode: More than one word must exist in the text field for animation to be possible.

Workaround: Add a space after the single word, or switch to Animation Mode: Character and reduce Delay Frames to 0.
