Installing Autodesk Inventor Local Help 2013

Download Help Installer (exe) and run Autodesk_Inventor_2013_Help.exe.

The Inventor Local Help installs by default to: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2013\Local Help.

NOTE: The Local Help will be available within Autodesk Inventor when you are working offline. When you are online, you will access help from the Wiki.

Additional Standalone Installation information

If you change the default install location (which is C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2013\Local Help), you must create a registry entry with the full path where the Local Help is located. The registry entry must be created in the following location with the following values:

Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion17.0

Key: Local Help

String: [Path to the Local Help]

Example: C:\MyLocalHelp\

Attention CAD/IT Managers: How to deploy Inventor 2013 Local Help as part of a deployment

To deploy Autodesk Inventor 2013 Local Help as a part of an Inventor deployment:

  1. Download the Local Help Installer (exe) and save to a local drive.
  2. Launch the Autodesk Inventor installer and click Create Deployment.
  3. Click through the Deployment wizard to the Configuration page.
  4. On the Configuration page, scroll down to the settings for Help Documentation for Offline Use.
  5. Select the Include Offline Help checkbox.
  6. Browse to the location of the saved Local Help Installer (exe) to add the file to the deployment image.

When you install the deployment, the, Local Help is installed respective to the location where the product is installed. For example, Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2013\ Local Help.

The Local Help will only be launched when a user is OFFLINE and accesses help from within the product. If the user is ONLINE, the help from the Autodesk wiki displays.
