In animation, a control point (NURBS CV, polygonal vertex, lattice point) of a rigid skin object.

The set of all these points that can be influenced by a particular joint is called the rigid skin point set. By default, these sets are organized into a partition, so that the sets have no members in common. Consequently, a point can be influenced only one joint.

The weight assigned to a joint that controls the influence of that joint on each rigid skin point is called the rigid skin point weight. By default, each joint can influence the skin points of its nearest skin object equally, but you can edit the amount by which a joint can influence a skin point.
