pymel.core.context.polyMergeEdgeCtx

polyMergeEdgeCtx(*args, **kwargs)

Create a new context to merge edges on polygonal objects In query mode, return type is based on queried flag.

Flags:
Long name (short name) Argument Types Properties
activeNodes (anq) bool ../../../_images/query.gif

Return the active nodes in the tool
caching (cch) bool

constructionHistory (ch) bool

exists (ex) bool ../../../_images/create.gif

Returns true or false depending upon whether the specified object exists. Other flags are ignored.
firstEdge (fe) int

image1 (i1) unicode ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif

image2 (i2) unicode ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif

image3 (i3) unicode ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif

Contexts support up to three icons that represent the tool associated with the context.
immediate (im) bool ../../../_images/edit.gif

Acts on the object not the tool defaults
mergeMode (mm) int ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif

The merge mode. (at first edge : 0, in between : 1, at last edge : 2) Default is in between. Flag can have multiple arguments, passed either as a tuple or a list.

mergeTexture (mt) bool

name (n) unicode ../../../_images/create.gif

If this is a tool command, name the tool appropriately.
nodeState (nds) int

previous (pv) bool ../../../_images/edit.gif

Reset to previously stored values
reset (rs) bool ../../../_images/edit.gif

Reset to default values
secondEdge (se) int

toolNode (tnq) bool ../../../_images/query.gif

Return the node used for tool defaults

Derived from mel command maya.cmds.polyMergeEdgeCtx

Example:

import pymel.core as pm

# Create a poly plane
pm.polyPlane(w=10, h=10, sx=10, sy=10, n='pPlane1')

# Create a new poly merge edge context, set to use first selected edge as the new edge, then switch to it
pm.polyMergeEdgeCtx('polyMergeEdgeCtx1', mm=0)
pm.setToolTo('polyMergeEdgeCtx1')
