Summary:

This example is an introduction to assemblies in Inventor.

In particular, note the Motion constraint (Rotation-Translation) between the Ram part and the Pinion Shaft.

This assembly is useful for learning new functionality, since it has few components, but enough to be interesting. Try such exercises such as:

• Use the Drive Constraint command to watch press in action
• Create Design Views which alter the color and materials of the components
• Create Positional Representations which capture the Ram at the top and bottom of its range of motion
• Mirror the assembly to make a left-handed version of the press
• Use Inventor Studio to make a rendering and an animation
