Multi-Touch input gestures

 
 
 

If your workstation includes a supported multi-touch device with the latest drivers, Mudbox recognizes the following inputs/actions.

Important(Mac OS X) If you enable a trackpad as your multi-touch device, turn off Swipe between full-screen apps and Mission control under Trackpad > More Gestures in your System Preferences to prevent conflicts between the Mudbox gestures and the default gestures defined for the trackpad.

Tumble

(1-finger swipe)

Note(Mac OS X) If you're using the Trackpad for multi-touch and as a cursor, use Shift + 2 finger swipe to tumble. (See also Enable multi-touch input from the Trackpad .)

Pan/zoom

(2-finger swipe/pinch)

Tilt the camera

(2-finger twist)

Return to home position

(2-finger double-tap)

Undo

(3-finger flick left)

Redo

(3-finger flick right)

Change the brush size

(3-finger pinch)

NoteYou can make the same gesture with two fingers and a thumb.

Change the brush strength

(3-fingers swipe up and down)

Open the Hotbox

(5-finger touch and hold)

When sculpting, use the following in place of the Shift or Ctrl hotkeys:

To: Do this...

Activate smoothing on any sculpt brush

(3-finger touch and hold)

Invert the action of the sculpt brush

(4-finger touch and hold)

Additional gestures for devices where the multi-touch surface is also a screen

To: Do this...

Select tools or press buttons

(tap with one finger)

Control the position of a stencil

(2-finger swipe, pinch, and twist)

Set the camera centre-of-interest

(double-tap with one finger on a mesh point)
