Loading audio files

 
 
 

You can load audio files via the menu bar, the Transport Controls, the Asset browser, or the Navigator window's scene browser.

The following figure displays the supported audio files.

Supported audio file formats

To add an audio file to a scene via the menu bar:

  1. Select File Import Audio.

    The Import Audio dialog box appears.

    TipIn the Import Audio dialog, click the Files of type field to find out which file formats are supported.
  2. Navigate in the Import Audio dialog, select an audio clip, and click Open.

    The audio file is loaded in the scene. The Navigator window displays the audio asset in the Scene browser and the audio asset’s settings under the Audio Settings tab.

To add an audio file to a scene via the Transport Controls:

  1. Right-click the Action Timeline and select Audio Open Audio Clip from the context menu.

    The Import Audio dialog appears.

  2. Navigate in the Import Audio dialog, select an audio clip, and click Open.

    The imported clip is loaded in the scene. The Navigator window displays the audio asset in the Scene browser.

    TipIn the Scene browser, click the imported audio file under the Audio branch to display its settings in the Navigator window (under the Audio Settings tab).
    NoteIf audio files are already in the Asset or Scene browsers, simply drag them into the Viewer window.

To load an audio file via the Asset browser, do one of the following:

To load an audio file via the Scene browser in the Navigator window:

NoteThe Scene browser must contain an Audio branch. If it doesn’t, you can load audio files via the menu bar, the Transport Controls, or the Asset browser.
  1. Right-click the Audio branch and select Insert Audio from the context menu.

    The Import Audio dialog appears.

  2. Navigate in the Import Audio dialog, select an audio file, and click Open.

    The audio asset is loaded in the scene. The Navigator window displays the audio asset in the Scene browser and the audio asset’s settings under the Audio Settings tab.
