Note: Strings representing object names and arguments must be separated by commas. This is not depicted in the synopsis.

polyMergeFacetCtx is undoable, queryable, and editable.

Create a new context to merge facets on polygonal objects

Return value

In query mode, return type is based on queried flag.

activeNodes, exists, image1, image2, image3, immediate, mergeMode, name, previous, reset, toolNode
Long name (short name) Argument types Properties
exists(ex) boolean create
Returns true or false depending upon whether the specified object exists. Other flags are ignored.
image1(i1) string createqueryedit
image2(i2) string createqueryedit
image3(i3) string createqueryedit
Contexts support up to three icons that represent the tool associated with the context.
name(n) string create
If this is a tool command, name the tool appropriately.
activeNodes(anq) boolean query
Return the active nodes in the tool
toolNode(tnq) boolean query
Return the node used for tool defaults
immediate(im) boolean edit
Acts on the object not the tool defaults
reset(rs) boolean edit
Reset to default values
previous(pv) boolean edit
Reset to previously stored values
mergeMode(mm) int createqueryedit
The merge mode. (at first facet : 0, in between : 1, at last facet : 2)
Default is in between.

import maya.cmds as cmds

# Create a poly plane
cmds.polyPlane(w=10, h=10, sx=10, sy=10, n='pPlane1')

# Create a new poly merge facet context, set the merge mode to merging the second face to the first face, then switch to it
cmds.polyMergeFacetCtx('polyMergeFacetCtx1', mm=0)
