pymel.core.modeling.polyCacheMonitor

polyCacheMonitor(*args, **kwargs)

When the cacheInput attribute has a positive value the midModifier node caches the output mesh improving performance in computations of downstream nodes. When the counter has a zero value the midModifier releases the cached data.

Flags:
Long name (short name) Argument Types Properties
cacheValue (chv) bool ../../../_images/create.gif

Flag to indicate whether the node’s cache counter should be incremented or decremented. True increments the counter, false decrements the counter.Flag can appear in Create mode of commandFlag can have multiple arguments, passed either as a tuple or a list.

nodeName (nm) unicode ../../../_images/create.gif

Name of the node whose cache counter needs to be changed.

Derived from mel command maya.cmds.polyCacheMonitor

Example:

import pymel.core as pm

import maya.cmds as cmds

# increment cache counter on polyExtrudeFace1 node
pm.polyCacheMonitor( nodeName='polyExtrudeFace1' )
# update/edit manipulate nodes which are present downstream
# with respect to polyExtrudeFace1
# decrement cache counter on polyExtrudeFace1 node
# so that the cache is set free
pm.polyCacheMonitor( nodeName='polyExtrudeFace1', cacheValue=False )
