pymel.core.modeling.singleProfileBirailSurface

static modeling.singleProfileBirailSurface(*args, **kwargs)

This cmd creates a railed surface by sweeping the profile curve along the two rail curves. One of the requirements for surface creation is the profile curve must intersect the two rail curves. If the profile is a surface curve i.e. isoparm, curve on surface or trimmed edge then tangent continuity across the surface underlying the profile may be enabled using the flag -tp1 true. The first argument represetns the profile curve, the second and third the rails.

Flags:
Long name (short name) Argument Types Properties
caching (cch) bool ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif

Modifies the node caching mode. See the node documentation for more information. Note:For advanced users only.
constructionHistory (ch) bool ../../../_images/create.gif

Turn the construction history on or off
name (n) unicode ../../../_images/create.gif

Name the resulting object
nodeState (nds) int ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif

Modifies the node state. See the node documentation for more information. Note:For advanced users only. Common flags
object (o) bool ../../../_images/create.gif

Create the result, or just the dependency node
polygon (po) int ../../../_images/create.gif

The value of this argument controls the type of the object created by this operation 0: nurbs surface1: polygon (use nurbsToPolygonsPref to set the parameters for the conversion)2: subdivision surface (use nurbsToSubdivPref to set the parameters for the conversion)3: Bezier surface4: subdivision surface solid (use nurbsToSubdivPref to set the parameters for the conversion)Flag can have multiple arguments, passed either as a tuple or a list.

tangentContinuityProfile1 (tp1) bool ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif

Need to be tangent continuous across the profile. The profile must be a surface curve. Default:false
transformMode (tm) int ../../../_images/create.gif ../../../_images/query.gif ../../../_images/edit.gif

transform mode ( Non proportional, proportional ). Non proportional is default value. Default:0 Advanced flags

Derived from mel command maya.cmds.singleProfileBirailSurface

Example:

import pymel.core as pm

#Create a surface by sweeping profile "curve1" along the two rails
#given by isoparms surface1.u[0] and surface2.u[0.5].
pm.singleProfileBirailSurface( 'curve1', 'surface1.u[0]', 'surface2.u[0.5]', ch=True )

# create a tangent continuous surface across the profile.
pm.singleProfileBirailSurface( 'surface1.u[0]', 'curve1', 'curve2', ch=True, tp1=True )
