What's New in Project Management

Reorganization of Project Folders

Each Scene folder contains the following folders:

You do not have to modify the folder structure of projects created in previous versions to open them in Lustre 2012. Newly created data (such as imported media, cuts, and scenes) are created within the new structure.

Important Lustre 2012 projects are not compatible with previous versions. Once you open a project created in a previous version in Lustre 2012, you will no longer be able to open it in the release in which it was created.

Source clips and Shot bin folders are displayed in the Library, but cuts created in previous versions are only visible in the Cut list. Creating a new cut creates an entry in the Library.

Note The sacc_data folder does not exist anymore.

New Clip File

Importing footage into the Library creates .clip files on your filesystem. These .clip files are text files written in XML that contain all of the metadata of the source clip.

It is still possible to use Cut files created in previous versions of Lustre.

Changes to the Cut File

The new .cut file now includes all of the information from the .cutinfo and .cutdatafids files.

Library Replaces the Shot Bin

The Shot Bin has been replaced with a Library that lets you manage source clips and timelines. You can see and edit the content of the library from the filesystem.

NoteSince grade files reference Cuts in the Library, do not move cuts in the Library after they are linked to a grade. If you move a cut referenced by a grade, the grade will not be able to load the cut file since the cut will not be located at the expected location. You should always move the cuts before they are used with a grade.
