Starting mental ray 3.6.51

mental ray can be started from a command line using the mentalrayrender command in the Terminal window, for example:

/Applications/Autodesk/mentalrayStandalone3.6.51-Maya2008/bin/
mentalrayrender myscene.mi

To view mental ray documentation

1. Navigate to the Applications folder in Mac OS X, and in the Autodesk folder, open the mentalray3.6.51 folder.
2. Double-click index.html within the docs folder. Your default Web browser is launched and the mental ray online library appears.
