Thank you for downloading Service Pack 1 for Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional.

This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this Service Pack. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply the service pack to your licensed copy of the product.


This service pack is for the following Autodesk products running on all supported operating systems. It includes all previous Service Packs and can therefore be applied to any version of the software.

Be sure to download and install the correct service pack if downloaded from the Update and Service Packs web site.
(Autodesk Application Manager recognizes downloads and installs the right service pack automatically).

Apply This Service Pack to a Standalone Installation

Take the steps below to install this service pack.

  1. Download the service pack and save it to any folder.
  2. Find the folder where you saved the service pack and double-click the executable (EXE) file.
  3. If required, insert the product media (for example, the Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2016 installation disc).

Apply This Service Pack to a Network Administrative Image (Deployment)

Both methods: 'Append' and 'Merge' may be used when creating the deployment with this Service Pack.

Uninstall this Service Pack

Windows 7

  1. From the Start menu (Windows), click Control Panel.
  2. Click Programs and Features.
  3. In the Programs and Features window, in the left pane, click View Installed Updates.
  4. Find the appropriate service pack in the list of updates. Click Uninstall.

Windows 8

  1. From the Start menu (Windows), click Control Panel.
  2. Click Programs and Features.
  3. In the Programs and Features window, in the left pane, click View Installed Updates.
  4. Find the appropriate service pack in the list of updates. Click Uninstall.

The following defects have been fixed in this service pack:


  1. Functionality of a few API functions has been corrected.
  2. Transfer faults concerning the exchange of Robot and Revit models have been fixed.
  3. American timber database has been updated according to the NDS 2012 specification.
  4. Plastic moduli Wply & Wplz of FB steel sections in the AISC and Australian databases have been fixed (switched).
  5. Descriptions of RPLN7Pro database families and Weight and Surf parameters of AHEB, AIN, AIPE sections have been corrected.
  6. Switching the mouse cursor into "Rotate Zoom Pan" mode when executing "Zoom All" command has been fixed.
  7. Changing the scale of the user-defined diagram when moving mouse cursor outside the Diagram for bars dialog has been fixed.
  8. Start of the application and help execution for Calculation Manager and Deletion of Prepared Results have been fixed.
  9. Size of the Plan view for the Building template has been adjusted.
  10. Bar library structure for the Romanian regional preferences has been unblocked.

Model Definition

  1. Model generation on computers with multicore processors has been fixed.
  2. Unjustified warning about isolated nodes for nodes generated with the "Division" option has been removed.
  3. Display of the wall properties data has been adjusted.

Analysis and Results

  1. DAM Analysis - faulty recognition of non-static loads if pseudostatic or equivalent seismic lateral forces are used has been fixed.
  2. Wind Simulation analysis for not supported objects has been fixed.
  3. Simulation CFD crashes have been removed.
  4. Display of the maximum and minimum diagram values on the legend according to selected units has been fixed.

Steel Connections Design

  1. Display of the connection schemes for solid structures has been fixed.
  2. Tube Truss Node connection - multiplication of the material factor while calculating the tension capacity of the cord has been corrected.
  3. Splice connection - internal plate verification and block tearing resistance of bolted flanges have been adjusted.

Steel and Timber Members Design

  1. Eurocode EC3 - display of the ratio for SLS verification has been fixed.
  2. SP 16.13330.2011 - value of the critical stress in the web Tcrz has been adjusted.
  3. Abnormally slow calculation of joists divided by meshing has been fixed.
  4. Detection of positions of adjoining elements for buckling around Y calculation has been fixed.
  5. EC5 - verification of displacement for cantilevers has been adjusted.
  6. EC5 French NAD - Kcr value for the glued laminated timber of the service class 2 has been fixed.
  7. NDS verification formula has been adjusted.
  8. AS4100 - display of the warping constant in the calculation note has been fixed.

RC Members Design

  1. Invalid diacritics in the calculation messages dialog have been fixed.
  2. Calculations of the list of RC members have been adjusted.
  3. A few API functions have been updated.

  4. RC Walls
  5. NF EN 1992-1-1/NA:2007 - parameterization and analysis of the chain of walls have been adjusted.

  6. RC Slabs
  7. CSA A23.3 - reinforcement for the tension/compression type for SLS load cases has been adjusted.
  8. Eurocode EC2- distribution of the minimal reinforcement for bending and tension/compression has been fixed.
  9. Unwanted change of the concrete grade after any change of the slab calculation parameters has been fixed.

  10. RC Foundations
  11. Display of the stress results, parameter values, and friction angle units in the calculation note has been fixed.
  12. Punching/shear button on the results tab is moved to the geotechnical results group.
  13. BAEL verification of the foundation with lean concrete has been adjusted.

  14. RC Beams
  15. Calculations of the crack width and adjustment of the reinforcement for cracks for beams with many reinforcement layers has been fixed.
  16. Verification of the real cover for the fire requirements has been fixed.
  17. NTC2008 - use of the EC8 5.15 formula has been limited to bridge beams only.
  18. EC seismic requirements for the seismic class DCL have been adjusted.
  19. EC cover deviation has been fixed.
  20. Import of only originally selected load cases during subsequent update of a beam has been fixed.
