This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of the Hotfix. It is strongly recommended that you read the entire document before you apply the Hotfix to your product. For reference, you should save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.
You can apply this Hotfix to the following Autodesk products running on all supported operating systems and languages. Be sure to install the correct Hotfix for your software.
Autodesk Advance Steel® 2016
This Hotfix can be applied to Advance Steel 2016 running on all supported operating systems and languages.
This Hotfix can be applied to Autodesk Advance Steel 2016 installed as a standalone application as well as Advance Steel 2016 installed from the Autodesk Advance Steel 2016 with AutoCAD Bundle.
As a result of detailed information from customers who used the Customer Error Reporting Utility, a number of problems were identified and fixed. Updates have been made in the following commands and features:
o Fixed a crash that could occur when using customized prototypes for detail drawings.
o Fixed a crash that occurred when adding another detail to an existing drawing.
o Fixed a problem that occurred when exporting a certain connection configuration to SSL, CAM and NC.
o Fixed a crash that could occur when using AutoCAD lines in an Advance Steel model, using a shade mode.
The following defects were also solved in Advance Steel 2016 Hotfix 1:
o Fixed a problem that prevented the creation of overview drawings on the France installation.
o Fixed an issue regarding model objects visibility that caused objects to disappear after changing a drawing number from the Document Manager.
o Fixed an issue that occurred when attempting to print Advance Steel details from Document Manager, using the "Batch plot" functionality.
o Fixed a problem that prevented Management Tools to set a profile as current.
Import / Export
o Returned to the Advance Steel 2015.1 behavior for the "Navisworks export" command.
o Regained visibility of Advance Steel object properties in DWF files.
o Fixed a problem with multi-edit which would modify the length of all selected plates even when the user did not make any length modifications.
o Fixed an error in the Advance Steel User Interface that caused some unit-independent controls to behave as if they were displaying length values.
o Improved stability when opening projects.
o Fixed a problem that caused folded plates to behave incorrectly in a workflow involving repeatedly deleting relations and using Undo.
o Fixed a problem that would cause J anchors to display smaller or larger bodies than normal.
o Fixed an issue that caused an incorrect position of punch marks created by the Stiffener joint.
o Fixed an issue that required the user to restart the application in order to use the updated Advance Steel databases after changes were made to them.
As you prepare to install this Hotfix, make sure you have installed Autodesk Advance Steel 2016.
Back Up Custom Files
It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this Hotfix.
During installation, you will be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. To apply this Hotfix, you must have administrative privileges to install and uninstall products.
About Your Product
After you install the Hotfix, updated product information displays in the About dialog box.
After you install this Hotfix, it is recommended to reboot your system even if not prompted.
Apply This Hotfix to a Stand-Alone Installation
Follow these instructions to install this Hotfix on a single computer.
1. Download this Hotfix and save it to any folder.
2. Find the folder where you saved the Hotfix and double-click the executable (EXE) file.
Follow these instructions to install this Hotfix on multiple computers using your local network.
1. Download this Hotfix and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
2. Find the shared folder where you saved the Hotfix, and double-click the executable (EXE) file.
Note: Installation through your local network using the CAD Manager Control Utility is not supported for this Hotfix.
Windows 7 / Windows 8
1. Start Control Panel.
2. Click Programs.
3. Click Programs and Features.
4. In the Programs and Features window, in the left pane, click View Installed Updates.
5. Find the appropriate Hotfix in the list of updates. Click Uninstall.
