This Readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this service pack. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply the service pack to your product. For your reference, you should save this Readme to your hard drive or print a copy.

Who Should Install the Service Pack?

Service Pack 2 is for Autodesk Map 3D 2005, locked and unlocked, and running on all supported operating systems. There is a Service Pack for each language.

Locked and Unlocked Service Packs

If you download the service pack using the Live Update feature in Communication Center, the service pack version that you need is automatically identified. Separate patches are needed for locked and unlocked versions as well as different language versions.

If you decide to download the service pack manually, use the following steps to determine which service pack to download:

Start Autodesk Map 3D 2005, click Help > About Autodesk Map, and then click Product Information. The License Type field displays the version you need, either Standalone - Unlocked or Standalone - Locked.

For Network deployments of this Service Pack, see your system administrator.

General Information

It is recommended that you back up all custom MNU, MNS, MNR, MNL, and MNC files before installing the service pack.

During the installation of this service pack, you will be prompted for the original installation CD or network image. Administrative permissions are required to install and uninstall products in order to successfully apply service packs.

Once this service pack is applied, you cannot run an automatic uninstall to remove the service pack. Uninstall the product and reinstall to undo the service pack changes.
