In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released Autodesk Map 2004 Service Pack 1, which
fixes or addresses a variety of issues discovered by customers or by Autodesk's
internal testing team.
This Readme contains the latest information regarding the installation
and use of this service pack. It is strongly recommended that you read this
entire file before you apply the service pack to your product. For your reference,
you should save this Readme to your hard drive or print a copy.
NOTE: If you plan to use the Autodesk Network Installation
wizard to deploy Autodesk Map 2004 Service Pack 1, you must first download
and run the Autodesk Network Installation Wizard patch. For more information
about the patch, see the associated Readme file.
Who Should Install the Service Pack?
Service Pack 1 is for the following Autodesk products, locked and unlocked,
and running on all supported operating systems and languages:
- Autodesk Map 2004
- Autodesk Map Series 2004
This service pack is required for any Autodesk Map 2004, Autodesk Map
Series 2004 and Autodesk Map 2004-based extensions.
Locked and Unlocked Service Packs
If you download the service pack using
the Live Update feature in Communication Center, the service pack version
that you need is automatically identified. If you have the same product in
multiple languages, all applicable versions will be patched. Separate patches
are needed for locked and unlocked versions.
If you decide to download the service pack manually, use the following
guidelines to determine which service pack to download:
Download and install the locked version of the service pack if you are
using one of the following:
- Educational version of Autodesk Map Series 2004
- International English version of Autodesk Map 2004 (The international
version contains the word "International" on the product label affixed
to the outside of the Autodesk Map 2004 package and the word "locked"
on the CD label.)
Download and install the unlocked version of the service pack in all other
instances.
General Information
It is recommended that you create a backup of all custom MNU, MNS, MNR,
MNL, and MNC files before installing the service pack.
During the installation of this update, you will be prompted for the original
installation CD or network image.
Once this service pack is applied, you cannot run an automatic uninstall
to remove the service pack.
Download progress may not be indicated during the update.
